Devil’s Third Will Be Published By Nintendo In The US, But It’s Also Coming To PC

As Devil’s Third heads for release in Japan and Europe next month, on the 4th and 28th of August respectively, the latest round of previews have not been particularly favourable. Built around a core of former Tecmo staff, with Game Director Tomonobu Itagaki best known for their work on Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden, Valhalla’s first game has been long anticipated by fans, and while it’s not looking too good for those with high expectations, Nintendo and Valhalla Game Studios are pushing ahead with the game and looking to establish a lasting online presence.

It’s been confirmed that, although not coming alongside the Japanese and European releases, Nintendo will publish Devil’s Third in North America in Q4 of this year, but on top of this, Valhalla CEO Satoshi Kanematsu wrote in a press release today that a prior agreement would allow them to self-publish a version of the game on PC in September.

This won’t be the whole game, though, with the single player to remain exclusive to the Wii U version of the game. Instead, this tentatively titled Devil’s Third Online is a free-to-play version of the multiplayer game. The aim is to ensure that there will be players spread across both platforms to keep the online servers populated.

One rather interesting sentence read that “In consideration of cultural characteristics in each region, the content is being optimized via co-development with local publishers. Service territories and the details of game content will be announced accordingly.” Which seems to indicate that different regions will see a slightly different spin on the game content being presented to them.

  1. I have a feeling this’ll be the worst Nintendo published title in quite a while. Hopefully I’m wrong .
