Podcast: Episode 187 – Jurassic World, Godzilla & Journey

The most important thing to know about this week’s podcast is that it features both Godzilla and Jurassic World talk. It’s basically my heaven.

On a more expansive note, on this week’s podcast are Kev, Lewis, Dom and myself, and we’ve got plenty more to talk about than a game about kaiju and a film about incompetent theme park employees. For a start we quickly ran down the week’s news, before we moved onto to a discussion of the PS4 release of Journey. On top of that, Kev also took a look at the iOS title Mountain Goat Mountain.

Finally, we didn’t have a quiz this week, but we did answer your questions.

  • Please send us questions via email to podcasts[at]thesixthaxis.com.
  • You can also tweet questions to @TSAPodcast.

This podcast features strong language, jokes in poor taste and adult themes, if you’re offended by that then we recommend that you don’t listen to it at all.

  • As usual, you can grab the MP3 file here (right click to download).
  • You might want to get it (when the RSS catches us) on the RSS feed, here.
  • We’re on iTunes, when iTunes feels like updating. You can also leave us a review and subscribe there, if you want to be particularly lovely.
  • We’ve launched ourselves on YouTube, with audio-only videos if that’s easier for you to access.
  • Finally, the podcast now appears on Stitcher as well.

  1. Youtube video is a nice addition, means i can finally access the podcast on PS4.

  2. iTunes seems to have mostly behaved Italy since I started listening about twenty episodes ago, only one delay. I’m enjoying the banter and the news digest, along with games chat which I don’t get with my friends anymore, good work guys. Also, very good job with avoiding spoilers, you do that very well.

  3. i think the Playstation version/s of Tomb Raider will still outsell the Xbox versions, one, there’s a larger install base on PS4/3 and B, the Xbox launch will be going up directly against Fallout 4.
that one’s gonna be dominating many people’s time in november.

aren’t footballs usually, you know, airtight? ^_^

i’ve never broken any bones yet, and i’m… old enough.

being a bit of a coward is a help in keeping all my bones intact.

i said from the first time i saw it, that just about any screenshot from Journey could be framed and hung on a wall and it would look like a work of art.

i remember Bloody Roar. great game, i remember one character that took me ages to unlock, still got the save on my PS3 i think.
transferred from PS1 memory card onto a PS2 memory card and then transferred to my PS3 with a memory card adaptor.

i’m looking forward to the new ghostbusters movie.
i would have liked there to be a connection to the original movies, but from what i understand it’s a reboot of the franchise.
still, it’s looking good, i like Feig’s movies, Kristin Wiig is fantastic, and McCarthy is funny.

incidentally, Chris Hemsworth is playing the Ghostbusters receptionist.
those that were upset about the female Ghostbusters, were livid about that. ^_^

and it should look stunning, with effects being so much more advanced than they were when the original was made.

i think there was a female Avengers team recently, in the comics at least.

they could do something similar for the MCU.
Pepper as Rescue, Captain Marvel, after her solo movie of course, Black Widow, bring in She Hulk, Scarlet Witch is part of the MCU now.
and they could bring Daisy/Skye over from Agents Of Shield.

and i know this is probably never going to happen, but i want to see Squirrel Girl in the MCU.
    i hear James Gunn’s keen.
