When last year’s Call of Duty launched Activision offered an upgrade path from PS3 and Xbox 360 to PS4 and Xbox One, including the ability transfer your profile between the old and new systems.
It has been confirmed that profile transfer will not be an option for Call of Duty: Black Ops III, so if you move from PS3 to PS4 at some point you will not be able to take your hard earned head shots with you.
Treyarch’s David Vonderhaar was asked if it was possible and tweeted a short answer.

Activision have not announced an upgrade path and without the ability to move your stats, it’s unlikely they will.

They would usually offer an upgrade for a cheaper price. Advanced Warfare last year was actually cheaper to buy it on PS3 and the upgrade than it was to buy it for PS4.
