The Revenge Of The Battle-Cars Rocket League DLC Is Out Soon

Psyonix, when not busy talking about movie deals, have gone back to the original Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars for inspiration for their new DLC pack.

Currently driving through Sony’s certification process, the Revenge of the Battle-Cars DLC should be out in the next few weeks, costing €3.99/£3.29, and includes the following:

  •  Two classic SARPBC Battle-Cars, Scarab and Zippy
  •  12 new decals (six for each new car)
  •  Three new paint types (Toon Glossy, Toon Matte, Toon Wood)
  •  Two new wheels (Scarab and Zippy)
  •  Two new Rocket Boosts (Accelerato and Battle-Stars)
  •  Four new Toppers (Cavalier, Locomotive, Pixelated Shades, Shark Fin)
  •  Two new Antennas (Retro Balls from SARPBC)
  •  Five new Trophies

The paid DLC will be joined with some free extras, new variations of the existing arenas, Urban Station (Night) and Utopia Coliseum (Dusk). The team say these are the last of the traditional maps for a while and the next lot will include more “unusual layouts and settings.”

  1. As much as I love Rocket League, I wish they didn’t go quite so ‘pure’ with it (although I understand their reasoning). The original game had some pretty interesting rule mix-ups in the single player (anyone remember knocking around a cube-like crate?) that would be great fun if they could be tweaked in multi-player. Things like ball or car size/weight, or unlimited boost, or penalties only…

I suppose any changes to the finely tuned physics would potentially ‘dilute’ the core experience. Maybe if it were a hidden mode accessed by cheat code – I miss the days when that was more common

    • They’ve announced that the next update after this will include unusually shaped arena layouts and settings, so be excited!
