Rise Of The Tomb Raider Xbox One Bundle To Be Raided Off Shelves Soon

A few days ago it was announced by Microsoft that every day of this week it would be announcing a unique Xbox One holiday bundle, starting at $349 in price. The first of these bundles was just announced today, and it revolves around the major timed Xbox exclusive Rise Of The Tomb Raider.

The bundle sports the new 1TB hard drive, and you’ll be using a bit of that space to store the digital copy of Rise Of The Tomb Raider that also comes with the bundle. The bundle also includes the Tactical Survival Kit dlc for the game, giving you a new outfit and weapon skin for Lara to use. Finally, for anyone who needs to catch up on the refreshed Tomb Raider storyline, a digital download of the previous game, Tomb Raider: Definite Edition, is also included.

Oddly enough, the bundle isn’t going to be available in a few major regions, as the announcement page states that the bundle is “exclusively available at Microsoft stores and Best Buy in the U.S. and participating retailers in all markets where Xbox One is sold except Canada, China and the UK.”

It seems lilely that this stipulation will apply to the rest of the bundles being announced this week, which would put a huge damper on holiday Xbox One savings for people outside of America. Also worth noting is that Gamestop just recently made an announcement that they would no longer carry bundles that included digital copies of games, making it likely that they won’t be selling this bundle, and maybe even the other bundles to be announced this week if Microsoft continue the digital trend presented by this initial announcement.

  1. Maybe Game have their own exclusive bundle tba for the UK. Must be slightly irritating when you get your fancy new console home, do the inevitable firmware update, then find out you’ve got about 50gig to download before you can play a game on it.

    • MS really want to take that top spot in the US over the Christmas period. I’d be very surprised if they didn’t get it tbh with Halo 5 coming out.

Do people still have to do the ‘day one’ patch when they buy their XB1 now? Or do the later models come with it pre-installed? That was the most frustrating part for me. Seemed to take forever.

Not as frustrating as taking the day off work for my PS4 and it not showing up until the following day mind. God damn you Amazon!!!

      • I’m not sure. I’ve always assumed consoles are manufactured with the latest firmware but I could be wrong. Xboxone does seem to have fairly frequent fw updates though so from time of manufacture to buying there’s probably a never fw version out.

  2. I’m not a fan of digital releases with new consoles. Give me my freaking disc! It takes off some of the sheen off the new shiny to me.

    • I’m the same. It’s worse when they include a disc with ‘NOT FOR RESALE’ across the front. Might as well be a digital code then. I mean, we just bought a console for crying out loud. Let us trade in the game when we’re done with it.
