Activision “Aware” Of Issues In Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5

Last month I was asked if I would like to review Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 but I declined on account of not knowing an ollie from olive. It seems I dodged a bullet as the game was released with all sorts of bugs and glitches.

Well good news for anybody who picked up the glitchy mess that is THPS5, Activision are “aware”of the issues.

In a statement sent to Shacknews, Activision says it’s “aware of the issues that players have experienced following the launch of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 and are working with the developer to address these so that we can continue to improve the gameplay experience for all of the Tony Hawk fans who have known and loved this franchise for more than 16 years.”

Judging by the scathing reviews that appeared so far you would have thought Activision were aware of the issues before release. “Truly awful”, “A failure in almost every way a game can be a failure”, and “Avoid this one like the Black Plague,” are some of the nicer reviews.

One has to wonder why the game was released in a half finished state.

  1. Why was it released? You said yourself in Snatch, the license runs out in 3 months.

  2. and they weren’t “aware” before launch?

not sending out review copies was just them being dicks rather than not wanting people to see how shitty the game was, and also being dicks?
