With Rockband 4 just days away Harmonix have announced that as of today, you will be able to re-download your previously purchased Rock Band DLC on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
This should give you a bit of a time to download all your favourite songs and have them ready and installed for when the game launches. However, this is a small catch. Well, a rather large catch if you have a big Rock Band library.
First and foremost, you will have to re-download each DLC entitlement individually in order to play these tracks in Rock Band 4. Due to 1st party technical restrictions, we are unable to support batch downloads within the 1st party stores. If you want your DLC downloaded to your console, you will have to re-download tracks individually.
Additionally, you will only be able to download legacy DLC on the same console format, Xbox 360 to Xbox One and PlayStation 3 to PlayStation 4, so if you swapped consoles this generation you’re a bit screwed. For further information can be found in the Xbox and PlayStation FAQs.
Harmonix have also announced that the long running DLC sale, which has seen pre Rock Band 3 tracks sold at half price for the last three years, will finish on October 6th and all tracks will revert back to their full price.

Anybody know exactly how this is supposed to work? Searching the store doesn’t bring up any reference to RB4 and tracks I’ve already purchased only show download options for PS3 on the webstore. I imagine they’ve jumped the gun a bit, and it won’t actually be working until tomorrow.

Thought exactly the same thing. My Game preorder probably won’t be here til tomorrow so I can’t check if the on store disc.

Just done a search, you have to look search through for Rock Band 4 rather than the tracks and look for them that way instead.

Where are you doing that? On the console version of the store? It’s not showing on the webstore on my laptop…

I read it on the harmonix forum. Couldn’t find anything on the webstore myself. Gonna check out the store via the PS4 later.
