EA Confirms Emperor Palpatine, Leia, and Han Solo For Star Wars Battlefront

EA has confirmed that Emperor Palpatine, Han Solo, and Princess Leia will be playable characters in Star Wars: Battlefront. Each of the characters have their own abilities to bring to the fight, helping out the rest of the team in whatever way they can. Of course they’ll be joining Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader as part of the roster, and more characters are likely to be confirmed later on down the line.

Leia will have the ability called Trooper Bane, a one shot kill against any stormtrooper while Villains will take a lot of damage and be stunned by it. The two more supportive abilities are Supply Drop and Enhanced Squad Shield. The first will drop power ups for the rest of the team to collect, while the second is a shield that can stop some Force abilities. Leia can also shoot out of the shield using Trooper Bane.

Han Solo plays similarly to regular troopers with fast offence being his key design. His three abilities are Rapid Fire, Lucky Shot, and Shoulder Charge. Rapid Fire allows you to fire Han’s blaster without worrying about overheating for a short time. Lucky Shot deals a lot of damage against vehicles as long as it is charged up, and can also be used against stormtroopers and villains. Shoulder Charge allows you to charge into enemies to knock them out of the way.

Emperor Palpatine is a support like Villain for the Imperial Forces, but can also deal a lot of damage. His first ability is Force Lightning which allows him to shock nearby troopers, and can be upgraded to a chain lightning variant. The second ability is Force Dash which means Palpatine can cover a large distance incredibly quickly, as long as it is in one direction. The final ability is Imperial Resources which is similar to Leia’s supply drop power.
