Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst Delayed Until May 24th 2016

Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst has received a delay pushing it back from the original Februrary 23rd date to May 24th 2016. EA has decided to postpone the game due to the scope of it, with the team requiring more time to realise the vision that the studio will be happy with. A statement was published on the official site by Senior Producer Sara Jansson.

Years ago, we set out an ambitious vision for Mirror’s Edgeâ„¢ Catalyst. Achieving that vision and delivering the best possible experience is equally inspiring and challenging. And it takes time. We set out to create a vast city to explore, full of stunning vistas, majestic skyscrapers, and mysterious tunnels. We’re building the most immersive action-adventure game with fluid movement and combat in first person. Mirror’s Edge Catalystwill be an all-new playground with a deeper and more engaging story – and we want to accomplish all these goals to the highest quality possible.

So we’ve made the decision to bring Mirror’s Edge to the world starting May 24, 2016. We will use these few extra months to make sure that when you step into the massive City of Glass and experience the rise of Faith, it’s as entertaining, impressive, and memorable as it can be.

Hopefully this is the only delay that Catalyst gets, with the final game meeting the expectations that players are expecting.

  1. Better delayed and with good quality than rushed out and buggy.
This is one of the games I’m most looking forward to
The first one reminds me of the line ‘played until my fingers bled’… it was so good I couldn’ t stop.

  2. People have been waiting for another one of these for so long it needs to be done right. Besides I’ll have UC4 to get by with around the original release date :)

And can we ditch that STOOPID full screen peanut advert shite! Talk about annoying! Makes me want to install an ad blocker.

    • Sorry, we have a policy of no full screen ads on TSA but some slip through, we have reported it and it should be removed very shortly. It annoys the hell out of us as well!!

      • Are these ads making the site really slow too? Taking ages for each page to load at home and at work :)

  3. Take as long as they need to perfect it, it is going to be a cracker!
