Fallout 4 is just days away but it looks like someone on the continent has got their hands on the game a little early and has posted a load of screenshots to Imgur. Thankfully they all seem to be from near of the start of the game so there aren’t any spoilers.
Edit: Bethesda kindly requested that we remove these captured images as they most likely came from someone breaking the review embargo, which TSA is also signed up to. Bethesda are in the process of removing them from their original source.

Looking forward to the review, fingers crossed this will be a worthwhile day one purchase.

I’m just hoping it lives up to Fallout 3. If it does that I’ll be delighted. The lack of a Karma system and Power Armour being essentially a vehicle with guns does somewhat perturb me. Still, a day 1 purchase in the hope that my fears are misplaced.

I’ve had this on pre-order for some time, I hope it’s going to be worth it.

Graphics look fine.

I’ll probably ask for this for Xmas assuming it reviews well and isn’t broken on release.
Ouninpohja
I plan to keep it until Christmas. But I was also thinking along your lines the other day, about it being possibly broken.
So I think I’ll install on receipt of it; and let it automatically patch itself out in the lead up to Xmas.

For once please Bethesda release a game I can just enjoy on PS4 with no lag or flying backward dragons

They frequently release games that aren’t full of bugs. They also frequently publish games developed by other developers.
Might be better off combining those 2 sentences, really. The games they release that work from the start are the ones they didn’t develop themselves.
Sadly, they’re doing Fallout 4 themselves. So it might be a mess like Fallout 3 was.
Didn’t Fallout 3 suffer the same problem as Skyrim? It started to perform worse the further into the game you got? Which they blamed on the PS3? Something Fallout New Vegas didn’t seem to have issues with and which was developed by someone else.
I think it may be best to wait a while on Fallout 4.

New Vegas definitely suffered the same problem. I couldn’t play the last piece of DLC at all because the lag and stuttering was atrocious. That pissed me off no end, especially as they refused to refund me for the particular DLC, blaming my PS3 as it “must be faulty”, which worked perfectly fine on every other non-Bethesda game… And yet I still feel I have no choice but to buy FO4 on day one!

You jest sir! FalloutNV was even more buggy on the PS3 than Fallout3 itself was. Though if the general chatter was to be believed it did appear to be more buggy on some PS3s than others.
Clearly the game wanted to use more resources than the PS3 had available, whether that’s sloppy programming or a limitation of the PS3 is a moot point.
It’s much more stable on PC though.
I’m hoping Fallout 4 has the story and characters, bugs will be fixed, if not by Bethesda, then hopefully by the PC dev community.

I found New Vegas to be fairly stable, apart from lag happening and me using it as an indicator to quit and reboot the game. The main issue that both Fallout 3 and NV had was Gamebyro. It was outdated and i think Bethesda confirmed that it was a RAM issue as well. The Creation Engine, which has been modified, should be able to run well with the RAM both current gen consoles have. Did you turn autosave off? Apparently, it helps.
As for Fallout 3, i kinda dread replaying that one day due to how awful the PS3 version is.

Although it looks kind of like a last-gen remaster, I’m fine with it except for what appears to be a poor implementation of texture filtering.

Fallout has never been cutting-edge in terms of visuals, but hopefully the framerate will be nice and smooth.

With the removal of Karma and Traits, i am a bit concerned Bethesda has taken the mass appeal approach and dumbed down several things. I’m also concerned that Bethesda won’t be telling a decent plot. Hopefully, Fallout 4 will be far better then 3 and hopefully, what they removed will be made up for by the new features. Followed by me wishing i had a PS4 to play the damn game on.
