It appears Activision may face some trouble as it appears the Nuketown pre-order bonus was only available for those who purchased the GAME. This goes against all the adverts that Activision put out that suggested Nuketown would be a pre-order bonus regardless of where it was ordered from. Eurogamer has taken a side by side comparison picture from the Black Ops 3 site, showing that Activision has changed the wording following the backlash that originally said all retail copies, to the new wording of “participating retailers.”
The actions of Activision could fall afoul of the Adversting Standards Agency, which I assume will be getting quite a lot of contact about this. In other news Activision Blizzard announced a film and TV studio. The company aims to create movies within the Call Of Duty universe, with the first set to release in either 2018 or 2019. A Skylanders TV show is also on the cards.
Update: PS Store pre-orders also received the map. It is unclear is Xbox One pre-orders also did. Thanks @Richard4481.

it’s annoying when they do stuff like that.
for a number of reasons.
1, making content exclusive to one retailer is stupid, because what if you don’t have that retailer near you, or if you shop online, you prefer a different retailer, maybe because of price, maybe because of service.
and when they invariably end up doing deals with multiple retailers, each with different content you end up with a fragmented userbase, all with different sets of content.
and to get it all, you have to buy like a dozen copies.
which brings me to point 2, doing it with maps in a competitive shooter like COD seems kinda pointless to me.
either they keep that map out of any ranked matches so it’s only usable with, for fun, matches, and isn’t the main point the whole thing the levelling up and stuff.
it’s like an MMO introducing an area where you don’t earn any XP.
or they put it in the ranked match rotation, which means anybody who didn’t buy from that retailer is locked out.
or maybe they only play that map at weekends or something.
a gun or character skin would be better, something that doesn’t stop them from playing with or against somebody who doesn’t have that content.
and 3, i don’t like this preorder to get content bullshit anyway.
this day one dlc sold to either the retailers to blackmail players into buying from them or the players themselves.
used to be you’d get a whole game on the disc, all unlocked, or you’d unlock the content by playing the actual game.
now, i’d watch a COD movie if it has a future setting like the latest few games have had, with all the future tech and that.

Maybe they might do a better job of making a movie rather than a game, being as they’ll only have to target 24fps.

I could see there being an issue when the “vote for next map” happens after a round, people without it will be chucked out the lobby, or if not enough have it then it’ll never get voted to be played on.
