Two Tribes Confirms RIVE Pushed Back To 2016

Two Tribes has confirmed that it has pushed back the release of RIVE to 2016 as development is still ongoing for the title. The game was originally intended for a 2015 release but due to the small size of the team, and various events, Two Tribes found it didn’t have enough time to finish RIVE for this year. It is due to release on Steam, PS4, Wii U, and Xbox One.

Since moving to a three man team early last year we had to rediscover how to handle things with less man-power. This means a lot of tasks have to be handled sequentially, instead of spread throughout the team. If we need a new trailer, the level designs stall for two weeks. If we decide to attend PAX or EGX with a booth, the entire project is paused for several weeks.

It’s frustrating, especially since it means we can’t let you play the final game yet, but it’s our current reality and we are adamant to make RIVE the absolute best game we’ve ever created.

The studio has released a batch of new screenshots and given a little bit of information relating to RIVE’s story. The main robot is exploring a starship and is aided by a strange AI called Daryll Lloyd-Lancaster. Why you’re on the ship and what has led to the dangerous situation remains under wraps.
