RIVE Cancelled On Wii U, Now Coming To Switch

Two Tribes have announced that previously revealed Wii U version of Rive, the 360 degree shooter/platformer hybrid, will now be launching on Nintendo Switch instead.

“RIVE is a great fit for Nintendo Switch,” explains a blog post. “It was always intended as an explosive ode to the action games of the early nineties. Nostalgic, yet thoroughly modern. And we feel that Nintendo Switch, too, is all about bringing the experience from our youth, playing deep and skill-based games together, to the current day.”

News of an exclusive Switch expansion for the game and a release date will be revealed at a later date. We reviewed RIVE a while back, you can read more here.

  1. You know, this would have been useful to let everyone know in advance, Nintendo. I mean, it may not help with the short line up but having a game that seems fun andperfect for trips would help. Guess the Wii U is deader then Digital Homicide then.
