Call Of Duty: Black Ops III Expansion And World League Announced

For those many people who picked up the latest Call of Duty, you’re probably wondering when the first DLC pack, which we already knew would be coming first to Sony PlayStation, would be launching.

We didn’t get a confirmation of the date, but we did get a launch window. Shelly Cox from PlayStation made the announcement on PlayStation Experience, that the first DLC named Awakening, will be launching in early 2016. As the agreement has already been mentioned, the DLC will be available 30 days before any other platform.

In addition to this, Shelly announced that Sony have also partnered with Activision to launch the Call of Duty World League. As part of this, Sony is the presenting partner of the contest with a prize fund of $3 Million, which is being raised in part at least by Sony.

Given how there is a healthy E-Sports community around the Call of Duty franchise and depending on how it is managed, this could be the spark that expands the reach of the community even further. It’s an exciting prospect alright, but what do you think about it?
