Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End Delayed Until Late April 2016

Naughty Dog has announced that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will be getting a delay of around a month, moving from March 18th 2016 to April 29th 2016 in the UK. North America will see the game release on April 26th 2016 and the rest of Europe on April 27th 2016. The reason for Uncharted 4’s release being pushed back is that the studio needs more time to polish some of the main sequences within it.

Pushing the date is not an easy choice, and we wouldn’t do it if we didn’t feel in our hearts it’s the best course of action for the game. To you, our loyal fans, we hope you’ll accept our sincere apology. We know many of you have been waiting patiently for Nathan Drake’s final chapter, and now we humbly ask you to wait a bit longer.

The delay does give you a bit more time to catch up with Nathan Drake’s story with Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection. Maybe that’s waiting for some of you under that Christmas tree.

  1. Hardly spilt milk. Better they delay than release a buggy game.

  2. Im calling Christmas 2016.

It’s like that old gag where someone ties a £20 note to the end of a long string and every time you go to pick it up they pull it away.

    • It would be quite funny if it released the same week as Rise of TTR. Not for SqEnix though.

  3. Disappointed but I have complete faith in ND to make the best game possible, I’d rather wait 5 weeks for a perfect game than get some buggy incomplete mess like a lot of releases are nowadays.

  4. Disappointing but obviously worth the wait considering NDs past releases.

  5. A little bit disappointing but i’m sure it’ll be worth the wait.

  6. Funny how if this was Gran Turismo, everyone would be losing their minds. (The last game had 2 delays of similar timescales just like this).

Funny how easy it is to manipulate idiots.

    • So, you’re calling all Uncharted fans idiots? Or is it all gamers in general?

      • Pretty much gamers in general, even now, Gran Turismo is synonymous with delays, NOT becuase it had significant delays (it was never supposed to me a lunch title, it was always intended to be a mid grn launch, and it had two official delays, a 6 month delay and a 2 month delay, very similar to this game infact). The press however used Gran Turismo as a avenue to vent all sorts of hate spin.

Gamers ARE idiots, as they believed every word of it, even now, the same things happen, braindead gamers believe everything they read online and never question how websites are funded and how this is work, a paying job for someone.

The fact that TSA or their owners don’t publicise their ethics and gifting policies should ring alarm bells for anyone with a brain.

      • Gamers are idiots? You’ve just gone and insulted the entire community on a… gaming website. Not really helping yourself, dude.

TSA’s staff are not paid and any freebies they recieve are either press related or just from conventions. I see no reason why they should have to do an article saying “WE GOT FREEBIES!” as it never effects their reviews. Unless it’s a condom then that needs to be reported by our resident smut writer. TSA, like most sites uses adverts for paying it’s bills and it never interfers with the reviews. E.g. Uncharted ads would not determine what the review score is. TSA is very open about the way it operates and it is ran by gamers. The writers are gamers, the people who read it are gamers. It’s Gamer central with gamers everywhere.

GT, that was ran by a director who kept delaying it for very minor reasons to the point where Sony went “RIGHT! THAT’S IT! YOU RELEASE IT NOW OR WE WILL SACK YOU!” From getting the wing mirror correct to adding a few more cars, it kept getting delayed because the director wanted more and more and more things to go into it and to be perfect. Problem was, Sony could only delay it so many times before it would start hurting their wallet and it was hyped up. Thus everyone got a bit annoyed at the constant GT5 is delayed again news.

Also, if this is a gamergate bullshit thing, just don’t. It’s christmas(almost) and we don’t need a massive argument on the eve of christmas. Cockles would be thrown, prawns would be flooding the servers, cats and dogs would get along! It would be mayhem!

    • That’s a strange post even for you. Though I’m surprised you didn’t find a way to blame it on Microsoft.

      • Microsoft are barely part of gaming anymore. They are losing so much money, its only a matter of time before they sell or exit.

3 lost generations in a row, and increasing losses every gen, that’s not b going to impress shareholders, Xbox one doesn’t fit with Microsoft direction at all (software services).

Xbox one is end of the road.

      • You hope.

Did Microsoft even lose the last gen? The 360 always sold the most games vs PS3 and the whilst the Wii sold more consoles it sold fuckall games. I’d say ms won by selling a huge amount of consoles and more games. Of course you’ll disagree though!

      • *looks at Windows 8 and 10 and the X1*

Are you sure? As Windows is still a strong OS and is used by most for various purposes including gaming and the X1, whilst it hasn’t gone the way MS wanted to, it is still doing well and MS are still part of gaming. I recall Sony taking large hits with the PS3 and were losing cash on every unit sold until they redesigned it to be cheaper and more cost efficent to produce. MS, they have massive pockets and they won’t leave the gaming market. I recall the Wii outselling both the PS3 and the 360 along with the 360 kicking the PS3 for most of the last generation. The PS3 did eventually end up selling more but there is always the possibility that what happened to Sony will happen to MS thus sales will improve at some point.

Plus, why does it matter if a console has outsold another in the previous generation? Surely, all that matters are the games and quality along with the thousands of hours of gaming that the console provides. If not, i am getting very old it seems and may have to exit the gaming commenting industry.

      • You can’t trust what you read in the media with regards to last gen.

The FACTS are this. Sony launched last, by 14 months, xbox360 has sold 13.4m consoles by then, but despite this, despite selling at a higher price, by the time the generation was over, Sony had overtook the xbox360 in sales.. Yet every week the press was reporting Microsofts version of sales, which were misleading, borderlines lies. How else did Sony close a 14m console deficient in 5 years???

Microsoft gamer usebase is tiny compared to Sonys. Many Xbox360 sales were replacements for failed units. So 30m Xbox consoles sales it likey to equate to 20m gamers. Add to that Microsoft cherrypicking what news to push, media that publish whatever the sponsor woth the deepest pockets wants you to push, and you have a huge illusion.

Gamers ARE idiots, the fact don’t lie.

Microsoft won’t turn this generation around, they are far too far behind, their heart is not in it, and they have destroyed trust in gamers by lying to them constantly over the years (“there is no inherent fault with the xbox360 hardware” and so on). Even this gen , stories about the power of the cloud and fake stories about direct X updates closing the hige Xbox one performance deficit, gamers are suddenly feeling like gullible fools listening to Microsoft lies.

Ultimately however, gamers buy whatever console their friends have, and that console is PS4. It also conveniently has the best hardware and the best exclusives, so for gamers its a win win.

      • Ha ha, let it all out mate!

      • So, everyone’s mate has a PS4? Damn, that must mean i am legally obliged to buy one. May need to contact MS to see if they are still paying people to praise the X1.

I seriously doubt everyone that owned a x360 suddenly went “Those lying bastards.” and picked up a PS4. A lot of people have picked up a PS4 but a lot of people have also picked up an x1. Whilst some may buy a console based on what their mates buy, some may not and just buy what appeals to them. For some, they may not stand the Dualshock layout thus chosing the X1.

Regarding last gen, it does not matter about the sales and i will continue to believe what TSA posts about the last gen. Does that make me an idiot? No. Am i an idiot? no. Am i the bane of TSA? Maybe. Just stop with the insults towards gamers. We have the likes of the Daily Rags for that.

Now, if you excuse me, i’m off to sacrifice several thousand babies to Microsoft and collect my check for voicing this reply.

    • Living up to your name I see…

    • I truly hope you have twenty-four hour care.

    • I didn’t know i was an idiot! Silly, yes. Sexy, hell yes, bane of the TSA community team and seldom biscuit thief, maybe, idiot? I did not know that. Gosh, i didn’t know all i had to do was read about UC4 being delayed in order to earn idiot status along with the rest of TSA. Oh wait, i just realised that it is impossible to be classed as an idiot for reading the news.

Just because ND delayed UC3 doesn’t mean it’s a marketing tatic. Unlike some publishers, they take great pride in their work and they are known to delay their stuff if they are not happy with the current status of it and most would rather wait longer then have a buggy uncharted game that barely functions. ND knows it sell well so delaying it for marketing purposes would just be a bad move and they never do that. Calling people idiots is rather rude and your comment implies that everyone who read this article is one. Insults are never nice and it is almost christmas. So play nice.

  7. Fair enough. Tis rather nice seeing a game being delayed to polish it instead of a game being delayed for marketing reasons and being buggy or broken for once. With luck, i should have a PS4 then thus i shall Nate my Chloe then.

    …..

I’ll be in the shameful corner of many shames.

  8. This is great news. The original date fell on my anniversary, could have a rough decision there and upset the Mrs!
