Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann has dropped a rather large hint that Nathan Drake may not make it out of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End in one piece.
“He’s at the height of his popularity, so it’s not a good business decision. But I feel like the best way to honour him is to go out on top, to finish his story,” he told The Sun. “But with the end of this story, it will be really hard to do a sequel with Nathan Drake.”
“Whether that’s it for Uncharted? I don’t know. At the end of the day Sony owns Uncharted and they can do whatever they want,” he adds. “Maybe there’ll be a prequel, maybe it will be a different character, I don’t know, but this is the end for Nathan Drake.”
Well that seems rather final, and no doubt when Naughty Dog are sold to Disney in thirty years time the first thing they will do is commission a raft of new Uncharted games, but for now this does appear to be the end.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End was recently delayed by a few weeks and will land exclusively on PlayStation 4 on April 27th.
