Congratulations! You made it through the week which contained what scientists dubbed ‘blue monday’. And in the same week, some other scientists said that there’s a new undiscovered planet in our solar system! Quite a week for science then, I’m sure you’ll agree.
Let me know if you made any scientific breakthroughs of your own this week, as we begin this week’s Community Round-Up.

It wasn’t a particularly busy week for reviews, but for our high scorer, Aran called This War Of Mine: The Little Ones “one of the most effective anti-war tools ever created” in his 9/10 review. Next up we had two games sharing a 7/10 score. Resident Evil Zero HD was described as a “highly commendable” remaster from Dave, while Stefan thought Homeword: Deserts of Kharak was a decent homage to the original series.
Our last review came from Dom, who tried out the Gamez Aftershokz wireless gaming headset. These ‘military-grade’ headphones allow you to immerse yourself within your mobile game, while also being open to hearing sounds from the world around you.
It was quieter on the preview front, with Stefan talking about dirt buggying around the vast open world of Dying Light: The Following, or you can see it in action for yourself here. He also tried his hand at Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4, and discussed the game with Dom ahead of its release next month.
Looking at the features, Dom went hands on with Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty On Vita, while Mobile Watch featured Last Voyage, which Jim describes as an “audio visual package”. Jim also asked the question whether Super Star Wars still holds up after its transition from SNES to PS4?
Last weekend’s Chronicle talked about the episodic Hitman game, PC hardware sales and The Division’s beta in Hot Topics, while PS2 emulation was the focus of the Open Forum.
The Podcast returned for the first time in 2016 with Episode 206, as What We Played #237 featured COD, Homeworld and This War of Mine.

Time to open up the Forums and have a look!
- RudeAwakening wonders who’s looking forward to The Division beta?
- And Fillip2k just picked up a Vita, any suggestions for must-play games?
Enjoy your weekends and I’ll be back next week, bye!

Not really that many scientific breakthroughs on my side. But one major insight of the week was that repairing or changing triggers of a PS4 is so much easier than doing that with a PS3 controller. There really was some progress with regard to the internal values of the current gen controllers, and God, was I cursing about this PS3 thing I hardly managed to put together again.
Mind you, there seem to be about 13 different types of PS3 controllers, so it’s not that easy to find a video showing just your model. But mine was quite a pain to change the analog sticks.

I keep meaning to getting around to changing the analogue sticks, I hate the concave PS4 ones, much preferred the Ps3 style.
Haven’t found any problems with the triggers, why did you change them?
Andrewww
Oops, the comment below was meant to be a reply to yours…
Andrewww
On my PS3, the rubber on top of the sticks was torn and flipped over when playing. That happened on 3 out of my four controllers, just never got around fixing them.
On my PS4, on both controllers the L2 triggers broke within a week (probably due to the Driveclub challenges Blast71 keeps sending me, which I really struggle with). I’ve put some chrome triggers on, so it’s not only fixed, but also looks quite nice. :o)
The PS4 triggers and sticks work fine for me, but it’s not difficult to change them, I recommend you do the modding to adjust it to your liking.

I plead the fifth!
Andrewww
The longer I think about it, the more I’m convinced it was already you to blame for those broken PS3 controllers some years back…! You’ve probably been on my friends list back then already..! ;o)
On a more serious note: Maybe I need to analyse my use of the breaks when driving, which would also explain why I’m struggling to beat those times in your challenges.
blast71
Now you’ve got new shiny triggers, there’s no excuse for not beating me ;)
Andrewww
Well, you know, the most beautiful cars are never the fastest ones either. But, maybe I’ve just not sent you enough drift challenges to keep you busy… ;o)
blast71
Yep you can kick my arse with the drifting, think I’ve only beaten you once.
Andrewww
Well, that’s a polite way to put it you constantly kick mine in almost all races against the clock. Thank God, they included those rift events..! :o)
