HTC Vive Is £689 In The UK, Pre-Orders Open At 3pm Today

The HTC Vive will be available to pre-order from today at the wallet busting price of £689, presumably with twenty quid or so worth of P+P added on top as well. It has also been announced the headset will ship with three free titles, Tilt Brush by Google, Job Simulator: The 2050 Archives by Owlchemy Labs, and Fantastic Contraption by Northway Games. You can pre-order via this link.

Tilt Brush, which you can see in the video above, allows you to paint in three dimensions, whilst Job Simulator is exactly what it sounds like, and Fantastic Contraption lets you build horse sized machines and let them loose on an island.

It’s been a while since anyone thought of bundling an art package with computer hardware, reminds me of the old Amiga 500 bundles that always came with a copy of Deluxe Paint that no one ever used.

  1. You could just about buy a PS4 and PSVR for that, if the leaked price of headset is correct.

  2. €899 and the €1200aprox for a pc to use the headset, eh no thanks! Ill stick to PSVR.

  3. I thought Deluxe Paint was awesome.. I doubt the bundled games will get much use though, its all about Elite Dangerous for me (And any other cockpit-style racig/sim games).

    • Yeah I used DP a lot more than pretty much anything else on my Amiga.

      • Nobody else commenting on those unfortunate initials? This place is slacking (similar to part of Tonyyeb’s anatomy by the sound of things).

      • I had to Google that! How innocent of me not to know :P But hilarious reading it back now!

      • Haha brilliant. Hope you were at home and not somewhere you can get in trouble for such unsavory webpages.

      • Thankfully/sadly just searching the term “DP” revealed the answer in the Google search results.

  4. Anyone else still think VR will be adopted by the mainstream? :-P

  5. that all?

may as well order two. o_O
