Ghost Games has detailed what players expect in the next Need For Speed update which launches April 27th. This update will contain a new Prestige Mode for the single player, while Speedlists will be added to the game to enhance the competitive multiplayer side of things. There will also be three new achievements/trophies added which relates to the new content.
Speedlists contain a competitive series of five events where you compete against other players, and you can select to do either quick play, speed events, style events, or mixed events. At the end of each event you are awarded points with the player receiving the most points over a series being crowned the winner. Alongside Speedlists will be player titles that relate to your rank in the global standings. The best player will receive the World Champion rank.
The Prestige Mode unlocks after completing the main story. After this is done a new icon appears on your in game phone, allowing you to switch between normal and prestige events. The prestige events are harder variations of events based on speed, style, crew, build, and outlaw, and it’s all about the score at the end to achieve gold rankings.
Two need activities will also be added to Need For Speed in the form of Drift and Speed Runs. In a speed run it is best not to collide with anything so you can post the best time, while in drift you’ll need to get around corners in style to gain the most points.

Despite some of this games flaws I have really enjoyed it. I haven’t played it for a while now but might have to get back to it. Just to bide the time until uncharted is released.
