After a rather long wait, including a couple of delays for the perfect Ubisoft experience, the Assassin’s Creed movie will be hitting the big screen this winter. The first trailer has been released and it looks, well, very Assassin’s Creed. It also suffers from the plague that blights many action movies, the orange & teal effect. This is the most orange & teal-est of movies I have seen for quite a while, Fassbender is practically purple in the teal Abstergo scenes whilst the Assassin-y bits are sandy orange, and these appear to be the only two colour palettes in the movie.
WARNING: This trailer includes Kanye West being a narcissistic twerp.
Also they’ve done some weird colouring on the logo (check in the image on the front of TSA) so it looks like it reads ‘Assassin’s Greep’.

I like all the free running but what’s with the robot arm Animus lifting Fassbender into the air? Why can’t they just have a chair like in the games? Less is more people.
And am I the only one who can’t stand Fassbender? I don’t know what it is about him but man do I find him annoying.
I’ll still probably go see it. Especially now we’re not getting an AC game this year :(
It looks a bit like the Prince of Persia movie and I thought was pretty decent.

Don’t mind Fassbender but agree on that arm thing.
I guess just like in the games, the modern day stuff will be the weakest parts.

Can’t really tell what the film will be like from that. It could be fun.
Bit shocked that the CGI looks only marginally better than the game.

Tis ok but they got the colours wrong. Kinda seems to be CGI heavy and the battle featured or at least, that seems to be the implication due to the shot of an army is CGI. The music is shit. AC trailers always have the music match the trailer. This is just crap. At worst, it should be a let down but entertainaing flick. At very worse, it makes me want to kill babies, puppies and burn the entire world.

I’m impressed, that looks really good actually. It’s hard to get that balance right between being just a direct copy of one of the games, yet it’s still clearly Assassin’s Creed.

i like it, apart from the music of course.
i really like what they’ve done with the Animus for the movie, it’s way more visually interesting than just having him lying down and twitching occasionally.
the Matrix movies played that shtick out years ago.
and it hardly made for the best parts of the Days Of Future Past movie either.
could make for some cool shots with switching between shots of him in the real world and inside the Animus performing the same actions.
and the action looks pretty cool too.
some good looking combat choreography.
i’ll be watching on release.
but i won’t be bloody preordering.

what a horrific trailer
