The Assassin’s Creed Movie Has Been Delayed In The UK

The wait for a movie adaption of a video game that doesn’t suck has got a little longer for those of us based in the UK. Michael Fassbender’s Assassin’s Creed movie has now slipped from being released this year to January 6th, 2017.

Annoyingly, the States still get it this year just before Christmas. No reason has been given for the delay but the new date in the UK does place the film in the awards window.

  1. what they gotta do bloody localisation on it or something?

    and awards season?
    as if.

or is it to stop Fassbender’s face from turning inside out in certain scenes?

first they try to get people to preoder a bloody movie, in the cinema, now they’ve even got the last minute bloody delay.

this may turn out to be the most game accurate, game movie ever.

  2. I suspect that delay hasn’t made any difference to how long we have to wait for a movie based on a game to not suck.

And is the “awards window” where you sit and watch all the awards go past on their way to films that aren’t rubbish? (And I’m not counting all those technical awards for “most not-too-rubbish-looking CGI” or “editing” or “best use of orange and teal in a film poster”)

It’s going to be bad, isn’t it?

  3. To be fair, I’ve never really got films that release right around Christmas. Especially those boxing day movies.
