This week seemed to fly past without me even realising. It was a shame really as I didn’t get to spend much time gaming, but with a quiet weekend ahead of me, hopefully I’ll be able to sort that out.
Seeing as I also seemed to miss quite a bit of the news and features on TSA, it’s the perfect time to start this week’s Community Round-Up!

After not seeing any previews last week, it was nice to see a few previews floating around this week. Dom began with a look at Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE, which he says is “shaping up to be an interesting RPG”, as Dave was impressed by Furi and how it blends several genres together.
Meanwhile, Stefan looked at how Capcom are making Monster Hunter Generations their most accessible game yet, before going hands on with Gran Turismo Sport. Everyone has high expectations for the upcoming racer as it makes its first outing on the PS4, but will Polyphony be able to deliver?
From the review side of things, DOOM shared the top spot this week on a 9/10. Dave called it “a truly spectacular bit of ultraviolence” thanks to its “stupidly fun single player campaign with brilliant levels and enemy design.” Also on a 9/10 was Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest from Dom. He enjoyed the “engrossing tactical gameplay” and enjoyed the higher difficulty that will really test even the most experienced fans.
Tuffcub reviewed Shadow of the Beast and was very pleased that the remade Amiga game was worthy of an 8/10, as Stefan commended Creative Assembly for brilliantly combining Total War and Warhammer in his 8/10 review.
The reviews then took a bit of a dip, as we had Homefront: The Revolution failing to deliver on a 5/10, and Shadwen on a 3/10. Jim said that Homefront just didn’t reach its potential, while Aran thought that Shadwen simply needed a lot more polish before its release.
On Mobile Watch this week, Jim asked whether Uncharted: Fortune Hunter is worth a download, and in the Open Forum he also asked what will be the impact for the toys to life genre following Disney’s exit.
In last weekend’s Chronicle, Stefan and Hot Topics featured your views on next year’s Star Wars game, and the Assassin’s Creed movie trailer. Stefan also wrote this week about the right to disagree, focusing on the fact that a review is an informed but still quite personal opinion, which is often all to easy to forget when it doesn’t match your own position.
Finishing up, What We Played #254 featured Uncharted 4, Total War: Warhammer and DOOM.

Time to open up the Forums and have a look! They’ve been exceptionally quiet apart from the odd spammer, but let’s see what we’ve got…
- Tactical20 shared his thoughts on Uncharted 4’s ending, but what did you make of it?
That’s all for this edition. I’ll be back again next week, just in time for the Bank Holiday!
