No Man’s Sky Officially Delayed Until Early August

There were the rumblings from various sources earlier this week, but now it’s official. No Man’s Sky has been delayed, with the new release dates being August 9th in North America, 10th in Europe and 12th in the UK.

The game was previously planned for release on June 24th in the UK, but writing on the PlayStation Blog, Hello Games’ Sean Murray explained that “some key moments needed extra polish to bring them up to our standards.”

He continued to say that, “despite all of that, development is genuinely going well. This is the hardest-working, most talented team I’ve ever worked with, and I’m so proud of what we’re doing. For all our sakes though, we get one shot to make this game and we can’t mess it up.”

So it will be just a little bit longer.

  1. Nice of Sean to write a statement about the delay himself, big shame but it’s a big game and ‘key moments’ sound very juicy, so any extra polish will be good. I’ll hold off on the cynicism today and douse my disappointment with a copy of Uncharted, yay!

    • I have done exactly the same, yay! ;)

  2. That’s not as big of a delay as I thought.

  3. Damn, now i’ll never have time to complete it.. ;)

Ok, nothing we can do but wait until everything is tickety-boo.

  4. and almost inevitably with “gamers” these days, Sean Murray has been receiving death threats because of the delay.

i swear, it would almost be worth not getting the game to keep it out of the hands of the scum that would do this.

    • That’s awful, there are some real bastards around!

    • Oh for fuck’s sake.

I hate that minority of gamers. People like them give us all a bad name and are scum.
