Team17 Releases Statement About Allison Road

A couple of weeks ago it was confirmed that Allison Road had been cancelled via a Tweet on the game’s official Twitter account. A few days ago the developers behind Allison Road released a statement stating that the partnership between itself and publisher Team17 had been ended through a mutual agreement, which made things unclear on whether the game had been fully cancelled. Now Team17 has released a statement, and some of it matches the original word for word.

After a long consideration between Lilith owner Chris Kesler and ourselves, we have reached a mutual agreement to end our collaboration on publishing Allison Road under Team17’s Games label. We love the concept and value Chris talent highly, but sometime things pan out differently than expected as game development and publishing have so many layers of complexity. The whole team here wish all the best to Chris on his current and future projects for which, before being a business partner, we are also a fan.

Again there is very little information within the statement, nor has it yet been clarified if this is a full cancellation or whether a new publishing partner is being sought.

  1. That statement makes it sound like the initial concept didn’t survive the development process and the end result was something they didn’t feel they could publish, for whatever reason.
