Final Fantasy XV is set to be released in September but before experiencing the events of that game you may want to watch Kingsglaive Final Fantasy XV, the movie which takes place parallel to the events of the game. In the movie the main focus is an invasion by the empire of Niflheim against the smaller kingdom of Lucis. King Regis, father of FFXV’s Noctis, must activate his special forces unit called the Kingsglaive to fight off Niflheim and rescue the Princess Lunafreya of Tenebrae.
The film has quite a high profile cast tied to it too. King Regis is being voiced by Sean Bean, Nyx is played by Aaron Paul, and Princess Lunafreya is brought to life by Lena Headey. The film is already out in Japan and will have a bit of a cinema run in North America. According to the description the film will be available on the PS Store on August 30th, or you can pre-order from the likes of Amazon which has the release date as September 30th.

insert obligatory Sean Bean’s character dying joke here.
it’d be nice if the film got a cinema release in the UK.
but it’s sony pictures, so of course only the most important place in the world, as far as they’re concerned, gets it.
