Dangerous Golf Yet To Meet Sales Target

Dangerous Golf is a game that comes from the people behind Criterion Games, with Black and Burnout on their CVs, and is the first title from Three Fields Ent. In it players play golf in various environments where destruction is encouraged to get higher scores. However the studio’s Creative Director Alex Ward has confirmed in an interview with Console Obsession that Dangerous Golf has to yet meet sales expectations.

Alex went on to say that all the money went directly to the 11 person team, but there are no plans to add more levels because it isn’t affordable.

“As we said earlier, we’re a small indie team. Tiny by comparison to almost all other teams operating on the platforms we develop for. We’ve always listened to feedback and our customers and we all take that really seriously. Whilst we’d love to be able to add more levels to the game – the reality is that we just can’t afford to do so.”

As for the future Alex did confirm that Three World Ents is looking to do a driving game.

From the heady days of the Mega Drive up until the modern day gaming has been my main hobby. I'll give almost any game a go.

  1. I picked it up last week and if you’re a fan of Burnout’s Crash Mode it’s a lot of fun. Hopefully more people will grab it!

  2. My guess is down to its reasonably high price plus zero marketing. It soon got lost in the store.

  3. This game as been on my PS4 wishlist since release and thanks to reading this article they have just garnered one more sale.

Ex Criterion devs (Developers of my all time favourite racing game, Burnout Paradise) fully get my support.

Here’s hoping they make enough from this game to create the racing game I have been waiting for for so long.

  4. Hopefully, they can gain funds by ‘giving it away’ with PS+ around September time. They could then utilise some of the lump sum on developing DLC to earn further revenue or simply gain exposure to the dev team and brand for a sequel or another project.

  5. I bought this in the sale the other week, just to see what it was like and support the small dev but I to say it ain’t that great. It’s not the worst game on the world but just a bit of short time waster. Not much else.
