So here’s the thing; we’ve been sent a press release about an icon. The square thing you press on your smartphone to launch an app. Please take a moment to digest this information, 2K are announcing the icon for MyNBA2K17 app.
Admittedly the icon does feature someone famous, 2016 NBA Rookie of the Year and Minnesota Timberwolves superstar Karl-Anthony Towns, but even so, it’s an icon. What next, a press release for the options screen in WWE2k17? A trailer for the spinning animation that indicates that Mafia III is loading? An animated gif teasing the install bar for the Bioshock Collection?
Anyways, here is Karl in a lovely image provided by 2K
And here is an artist’s impression of how he will appear on your phone
The app will allow fans to “bring their visual appearance to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of NBA 2K17”, and features mini games (with in app purchases, obvs), and the ability to earn in-game currency for NBA 2K17.
