Remember H1Z1? It was announced with quite a bit of fanfare by what was Sony Online and was coming to PS4. Then SOE was sold and became Daybreak Studios, and Xbox One version was announced, then H1Z1 on consoles went quite and we got told we were getting multiplayer shooter H1Z1: King of the Kill first, and it was no longer free-to-play. Well, forgot all of that.
H1Z1: King of the Kill on consoles is now officially on hold until the PC version has been sorted out. “It became apparent that the schedule was just too risky,” explained a producer on the game. “We were spread too thin trying to fix areas of the game while simultaneously getting the game to work on the console hardware.”
Once the game is out of early access on PC (and you know how long that can take) then work will restart on the console version of King of the Kill. Not that anyone will give a monkeys by then, we already have zombie co-op shooting with Resident Evil: Umbrella Corps and Metal Gear Survive will have also launched. The fate of the MMO, H1z1: Just Survive on consoles seems ever less clear, the whole thing has been, ironically, a bit of a shambles.
