Reports Suggest Breath Of The Wild Will Miss The Nintendo Switch Launch

If you were pinning your hopes on picking up the Nintendo Switch with a copy of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, then you’d best find something else to hope for. Regular Nintendo tipster Emily Rogers and Eurogamer both independently heard that the work needed to localise the game has pushed the game’s schedule back by a few months.

Localisation may not be finished until the end of December, Rogers’ sources told her, and this is to be followed by four to six months of testing to ensure that the huge open world game is as polished and bug free as possible. That testing process is obviously lengthened by having the game release on both Wii U and Switch.

Putting all of that together, the game won’t be able to release alongside the Switch which is to launch in March 2017. Good thing that Eurogamer have heard there’s a new Mario game that will be able to fill the gap – perhaps the one that was fleetingly shown in the Switch reveal trailer?
