SMITE Rivals Announced, Looks Awfully Familiar

Hi-Rez Studios has unveiled SMITE Rivals, a casual spin-off of its popular deity-duelling MOBA. Confirmed for iOS, Android, and Steam, the game will be free-to-play with plans to launch sometime in 2017.

Sporting a cartoon aesthetic, Rivals pits players against one another in real time as they summon units, spells, and structures from their custom decks.

There’s a definite Clash Royale vibe albeit with some notable tweaks, including the presence of three lanes and a menagerie of mythological characters.

With Clash still topping the mobile charts, you can’t really blame Hi-Rez in their attempt to expand what has traditionally been a PC-focused brand.

Beta sign ups are now open. The more registrations the studio gets, the more rewards it’s dishing out to players.
