At the Nintendo Switch Presentation, quite a lot of games were announced, but the first one shown was an oddball. 1-2-Switch is essentially a collection of minigames where the idea is that you don’t look at the screen – you look at the other players.

The trailer demonstrated this with two duelling cowboys. They essentially squared off and after the shots were fired, at which point it was predictably revealed that they were playing the game – but with the screen off to one side.
More footage showed more variants of multiplayer experiences where players literally square off against each other. After the trailer, the producer of the game stressed that the game uses the HD Rumble feature and motion controls in the Joy-Con controllers for new play styles.
1-2-Switch is out on 3rd March 2017, the Nintendo Switch launch day, and to be available for £39.99.
