Having got up with just a couple hours of sleep under his belt in order to get up and cover the Nintendo Switch Presentation – alongside myself and Dave – Tef’s lucky enough to be playing the Nintendo Switch right about now. Will he be gunning down Inklings in Splatoon 2? Staring opponents down in 1-2-Switch? Well, just come back later today where you’ll see our first hands on impressions with the console.
Despite getting his regular sleep, it seems as though gaming is causing Miguel problems as he says he’s played so much Yakuza 0 and Tales Of Berseria that it’s made his eyes bleed. Now, I’m no physician but I’m pretty sure that’s not good. Still, he also managed to play Gravity Rush 2 and Overwatch, so either he fought through the pain, blinking away the tears of blood in an uber-macho display, or he’s a drama queen.
Aran meanwhile has had a genuine illness this week, but found the time to complete The Last Guardian, with Trico taking up a position as one of his favourite animal companions in gaming. Besides also making a start on Firewatch, he’s put in yet more time with Football Manager, with Ebbsfleet sadly looking as though they’ll miss out on promotion. Never mind mate, there’s always next season week.
Steve is finding it tough to game in-between real life, but really that shows a worrying lack of commitment. I’m sure his wife, children and colleagues would understand why he’s not done anything, and you know the saying “if you play it, they will just leave you alone”. Or something like that. Anyhow, he’s completed God of War 2, played some more Ratchet & Clank, and is working on a review of Memoranda. I’ll let you know if he takes my advice.
Tuffcub bet me that I couldn’t work out what he’d played, and though it’s not something I want to promote in the team – it’s like herding digital cats round here some days – I’m going to take a bash. Titanfall 2. Now, what do I win??
Rounding things out, Dave’s been objecting to nearly everything. Mainly as he’s been playing Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney for iOS, and continued Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Spirit of Justice on 3DS. Besides that he finished up Dragon Quest VIII and played some Owlboy on PC.
Obviously I can’t let myself off the hook, so I’d better tell you that I’ve nearly finished Uncharted 4, and boy have I enjoyed it in the second half. Beautiful locations, great exploration and some of the best cutscenes and storytelling in any game have renewed my belief in the series after its lacklustre third outing. I’ve also found time for Overwatch, with a few competitive season games that really didn’t go to plan, and a few that did!
Now it’s over to you. What have you played these past seven days?

Going slowly over the Christmas sales.
This week I have really enjoyed Inside. The plan is to get all the trophies this weekend.

Predominantly R6: Siege, what else is new? Thinking I might push for platinum on it which is something I very rarely do. Also a chunk of PES 17, The Witness and Skyrim.
Avenger
I got very near 1000G on RS6, but the last few achievements, especially the x amount of defend terrorist hunts completed really became a grind. Maybe one day…

My thinking is that I just play it so much that I’ll eventually stumble into it, perhaps not necessarily going for platinum but you know. :D
It’s hard to put my finger on exactly what I love about it but I just can’t get enough of it.

I’m currently over 3000km away from all three of my consoles (I even left my Vita at home to enjoy the warmth down here on some island), so no gaming for me for a moment.
However, before I left, I played Robinson the journey, and wow, was I impressed..! Ok, the game is frustrating in parts and got some serious problems with checkpoints and all. But apart from that, the world is gorgeous, and it’s by far the most impressive VR experience I had with my PSVR. I’ve not finished the game yet, but if you like exploring and collecting stuff, then it’s far more than the 3 to 5 hours reviewers went on about, I guess I’m more than 10 hours in already.
I picked it up for £25 (thanks to NotSmartEnough to point this out to me), and it’s well worth it and definitely more than a tech demo, I’m very positively surprised. The jungle section is awesome..!

I’m still waiting for a price drop currently at £35
But glad to hear positivity of the game ^^
