After a couple of extremely dull weeks (seriously, who is still buying GTAV?) Capcom’s rebooted Resident Evil 7 clambers to the top of the charts in the first week of release.
In fact it’s a good week all round as the rest of the new entries are PlayStation exclusive;  Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter nabs third place, Yakuza 0 arrives  at No8, Tales of Berseria debuts at No14, and Bandai Namco’s Digimon World: Next Order comes in at No24.
We also offer a cheery hello to Titanfall 2, which has jumped back in to the top 40, as Gravity Rush 2 exits stage left and drops out of the top 40, having debuted in 16th last week.

I got RE7 and started playing it in VR mode. Didn’t get far and completely bottled it. Got to the dining table for people that have played it.
Great game but VR just adds a whole new and terrifying dimension.
Also, this can only be good news surely for the VR. Yes the game isn’t a PSVR exclusive but with such high numbers playing it and most likely contributing to the sales, hopefully other developers will jump on board.

I saw a poster on a bus stop, where previously there was one for Final Fantasy. Shame it’s not doing amazingly, I’ll definitely pick up a copy after I’ve played the first, looks beautiful.

Good news for RE7. And given there’s developers claiming you cannot cater for both types of play, PSVR and on a standard display, this is reassuring that it is well possible for a full game.
Read somewhere stats say 10% on PS4 play on PSVR. Seems very high to me, would mean PSVR owners are much more likely to buy such a title, which is promising from a business perspective.

Yes about 10% of all players are using PSVR, which is excellent.

That 10% is actually of all players across PS4, Xbox and PC, so that’s quite a bit more that 10% of PS4 players using VR (as the VR options is exclusive to PSVR for a year)..
