Warner Bros Interactive Confirms Middle-earth: Shadow Of War, Out In August

Yesterday American store Target uploaded a page on its store for Middle-earth: Shadow Of War, which essentially confirmed the sequel of Shadow Of Mordor. Today Warner Bros Interactive has come out and stated that Shadow Of War is indeed coming, and it will continue Talion’s story from Shadow Of Mordor. The company also confirmed that Middle-earth: Shadow Of War will be released on August 22nd in North America and August 25th in the UK for PS4, PC, Xbox One, and will also be optimised for the PS4 Pro and Project Scorpio. The game will also be part of the Xbox Play Anywhere program.

The Nemesis system is back and has been expanded to include Followers. Now you don’t have to just worry about the Orcs remembering you and your actions, with Followers capable of being loyal to you or betraying you if Talion carries out actions that go against them. There are also Nemesis Strongholds which require various tactics to conquer. The plot of Middle-earth: Shadow Of War is set between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord Of The Rings.

  1. Interesting but a bit disappointed that it’s tied into the films. Doesn’t allow them much creative freedom but the first one was decent, if a bit too short and had an awful final QTE boss. I do hope they have learned that if you have a great combat system, use it for everything! Though, it sounds like it is going to be SOM on steroids.

I do hope that Warner does not pull the same embargo crap like last time.
