Overkill’s The Walking Dead Delayed Until 2018

Starbreeze are clearly trying wrestle the “Game announced way, way to early” crown away from Ubisoft as Overkill’s take on The Walking Dead has been delayed. Again.

First announced in August 2014 with a 2016 release (and me moaning that it had been announced way to early, just call me Mystic Meg), the game then slipped to late 2017 as the team were adding “more content to the Asian version.”

Now it’s slipped to second half of 2018, which by my count means it will be four years since announcement to release, assuming it does come out then which it probably won’t.

“Together with the development team of OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead, we have decided to extend the production schedule so that the title reaches its full potential and drive our original vision a further step, ” said Starbreeze CEO Bo Andersson Klint.

  1. Oh… this is a thing? 4 years ago, it may have had a strong chance but the show is said to be constantly declining and that will have a massive knockon effect on the game. Even if it is not related to the show due to the show having a big gathering and being the one that most people think of.

Still, it will be better then that piece of crap that was released a few years ago where cars proved to be the key to surviving zombies. By standing on the roof of the car.

This is going to become the Starbreeze version of TLG in terms of development, isn’t it? At least, hopefully, it’ll be that and not Duke Nukem Forever of Starbreeze.
