Splatoon 2’s Latest Trailer Shows Off The Single Player

Splatoon 2’s main draw is the paint-splatting multiplayer, but precious little has been said of the single player until now, with a short trailer as part of last night’s Nintendo Direct. A short story series on the Nintendo site has followed the split between the two Squid Sisters, Callie and Marie, after they featured in the final Splatfest of the original game, and now Marie has popped up again, seemingly as the main NPC character in the sequel.

Beyond this, Nintendo have announced some new hardware and accessories to tie into this. A Splatoon 2 bundle will have the neon blue/neon red console with the game from 21st July, while a Splatoon 2 Edition Pro Controller and carrying case will both feature pink and green rather heavily. Sadly, the neon green and neon pink Joy-Con won’t be released until autumn.

  1. Should be good fun. Digging the new Joy Cons. I want a set :)

  2. Wow, I’ve the yellow Joy-Cons pre-ordered and gonna trade in my red/blue set, but those pink and green one looks brilliant. May end up trading in the yellows come autumn :/

I think the case is mine though. Love it.

    • How many Joy-Cons do you have? Might be worth keeping two sets as you know Mario Party won’t support the Pro Controller.

      • Just the 2 stock controllers that came with the system. Got the left joy-con desync problem, plus I fancy a change to yellow. It’s incredibly tempting to keep two sets, maybe the yellow and green/pink combo, but the expense is a bit much for cosmetic variety.
