It’s no surprise that comic themed beat ’em up Injustice 2 has stormed to the top of the UK Charts, following in the footsteps of its predecessor Injustice: Gods Among Us which also made it to No1 in the All Formats Chart in its launch week.
It’s the game that lands at No2 that will raise some eyebrows, PlayStation VR exclusive Farpoint. Bearing in mind just how few PlayStation VR’s are out there this is an amazing achievement. It beats Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia from Nintendo, and more surprisingly, The Surge which is available on three formats.
Lower down the chart the Destiny 2 reveal has reminded a few people about the original game and it pops back in the chart as a certain retailer is having a clearance sale.

Well that is surprising and great. Amazon had a bit of a melt down and failed to deliver on quite a few preorders I heard.
I’ll be getting my copy in a few weeks, gun included.

I want to say “hey, there are quite a few VRs out there” but you’re spot on. In absolute terms and when compared to the PS4 install base, those Farpoint sales are wonderful. Top effort to the devs.

Without wanting to take away from their achievement, one of the biggest issues facing all VR platforms right now is a lack of decent content, mostly due (imo) to devs still getting to grips with what works and what doesn’t in VR.
In an ocean of “VR experiences” and wave shooters, it stands to reason that any half decent, full length game would be bought by pretty much everyone with a headset.
