Far Cry 5 Is Out February 27th 2018, Get The Details Here

Far Cry 5 will be set in America’s heartland, Montana, and the entire campaign will be playable either solo or in two player co-op. It will be released on PS4, Xbox One, PC, as well Scorpio, on February 27th 2018.

You will play as a junior deputy in the fictional Hope County and will have to deal with a fanatical doomsday cult intent on taking over. They are planning “the Project at Eden’s Gate,” with the group led by Joseph, backed up by his Heralds. You will team up with the residents of the county to form a resistance and will be able to drive iconic American muscle cars, big rigs, ATVs and boats. Players will also be able to take the skies and have dogfights.

Weapons will include guns and grenades along with more personal methods of pacifying enemies such as baseball bats and sledgehammers. In a first for the series you will also be able to customise your hero, there is no default protagonist this time so you won’t be forced to play as a privileged “bro”.

To assist you players can recruit Guns for Hire from a large cast of characters, or even rather awesomely, Fangs for Hire, specialised animals like bears and cougars to fight for you. The map editor will also return allowing user created content, and PS4 players will get a free skin pack which will also be available to Xbox and PC gamers, although they will have to pay.

  1. Calling Youles, calling Youles, come in Youles!

This should be a nice slight change. I do love the FC series.

    • This is Youles, do you read me?

      Ready to tear shit up?

  2. I nearly applauded when I heard the banjo music. 9/10. Will inbreed again. :P

  3. Looks good to me!

  4. Those vehicles look great!

  5. I usually go for more fictional settings than a depiction of todays rural US, but this looks quite good to me.

  6. I’m ready to jump onboard a new Far Cry, especially one with full coop!
Given you’re a Sheriff, I wonder if you’ll have a non lethal way of pacifying bad guys or maybe even the ability to arrest them.

  7. Entire campaign co-op?
Count me and the good lady in!

  8. Going to point out that er… the entire concept could be undermined by the question of “Why not call in the miltary to back up the police?”

However, if it’s a completely new Far Cry(not a clone of the previous one or whatever Primal was) and is filled with proper content and not find collectibles, fetch quests as side bits, it could be interesting.
