Activision “Experimenting” With Crash Bandicoot, Could “Lead To Other Things”

It seems to prior to release Activision were still unsure if the Crash Bandicoot remakes would be a hit or not. “We are experimenting with Crash,” said Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg. “We know there’s a vocal fanbase that wanted that to come back. But you never know if that is emblematic of a larger audience or just this niche, nostalgia-based community. So far, we are seeing some real passion for it, so that could lead to other things.”

“Our first priority is to make sure we are servicing the communities that we are already lucky enough to have,” adds Hirshberg.

As we know Crash is the UK #1 this week and is the biggest single-format launch of the year so the N-Sane trilogy is off to a an excellent start. The question is will sales, ahem, crash, after the first week after all the fans have bought the game? The original PS1 games are never out of the top ten on the PlayStation Store so let’s hope the remade versions do equally as well.

  1. Fingers crossed for more. Crash, to me, is what a game ought to be: fun, colourful, not too serious, addictive, charming. I could go on.

By the way, TC, you have a typo in your subtitle. ‘Their’ should be ‘there’.

  2. I can’t wait for Crash of Duty, ProtoCrash, SkyCrash, SpiderCrash,Desticrash.

If they do Crash bash, it has to take full advantage of multiplayer. Same with CTR. If not, they will have feced it up.
