Has it really been a year since Pokémon Go launched and it felt like everyone staring at their phone was playing the staggeringly popular mobile game?
To celebrate the game’s first anniversary, Niantic have launched a new event in which you’ll be able to find and catch special Pikachu that have made off with Ash Ketchum’s iconic cap – similar to the Santa hat wearing Pikachu from Christmas. Running from 9PM UK time tonight until 9PM UK time on 24th July, all Pikachu found in the wild will be wearing this hat.
Following on from the recent update that added co-op Raid Battles and overhauled the Gym system, you’ll be able to buy Anniversary Boxes which will include incubators, max revives, ultra balls and raid passes at a discount in the in-game shop.
I must admit, I’ve kind of got back into Pokémon Go over the last few weeks. I do enjoy the new Gym system, which has really helped me actually get some Pokémon onto a Gym to earn me some coins, though I’ve yet to get involved in the new Raid Battles.
