Splatoon 2’s New Manta Maria Map Is Out Now

A Lost Outpost has been discovered in Salmon Run.

As announced earlier this week by Nintendo at Gamescom – something I completely missed thanks to actually being at Gamescom – Splatoon 2 has now had the Manta Maria map added to its playlist. It sees the Inklings battling it out in Turf War and other modes on a great big boat!

Additionally, the Lost Outpost stage has also been added to the Salmon Run co-op mode, which looks like it will add some rather different challenges for those who might feel they’ve mastered the first two. It’s been playable in local multiplayer as of Wednesday and added to the general rotation of the mode at the same time.

Finally, there’s also a new special weapon on the way, the Bubble Blower. It will be added to the game next weekend on 2nd September, and just in time to be used in the Flight vs. Invisibility Splatfest.

All of this is part of Nintendo’s plan to support the game with free new content on a regular basis for the next year, so you won’t be paying a penny extra for these.

  1. I’ve recently got this but have yet to jump into multiplayer.
Have to say I’m not a fan of the timed Salmon run mode and map rotation limitations.
I’m sure I’ll get used to it but I just don’t have the luxury to play in the time slots Splatoon allows me to.
