Xbox One exclusives have been few and far between over the last few years, and it’s losing exclusivity on another of its games as Wired Productions and Flashbulb Games have announced that they’re to bring the lovely Max: The Curse of Brotherhood to PlayStation 4 later this year.
It’s a 2.5D physics-based puzzle platformer with a lovely art style and simple fantasy story, as Max sets off to rescue his kidnapped younger brother Felix, using the power of his Magic Marker to do so. Using the marker, he can raise pillars of dirt from the ground, make trees grow to create bridges and swinging vines to cross chasms.
“Ever since we started Flashbulb, it has been our ambition to bring our titles to as wide an audience as possible,” said Rune Dittmer, Managing Partner of Flashbulb Games. “We are very excited to bring The Curse of Brotherhood to the PS4, and for a whole new crowd of players to experience the magic of Max.”
While it garnered praise from some corners, our review from four years ago (has it really been that long?) was not so complimentary, saying that while it had some lovely ideas, puzzles and gorgeous scenery, it was let down by awkward controls and annoying characterisation.

wonkey-willy
Great little game that can be picked up for 97p from CD keys on xbone.
It gets quite infuriating a bit later in the game as you have to use all of the buttons and powers, and as mentioned the control system lets this down.
