World of Warcraft is a game that has been part of millions of lives for a very long time now. Blizzard is well aware of this and is also aware of how long people have been playing the MMORPG for. Blizzard is also aware on how to tap in to nostalgia. That is evidenced today by the company announcing World Of Warcraft Classic.
Classic servers are not unknown quantities in World of Warcraft but they have all been unofficial. Today’s announcement is Blizzard’s way of acknowledging the demand of players for a more vanilla World of Warcraft experience. However these servers will take a little time to prepare. In addition to this Blizzard also announced the Battle for Azeroth expansion which sees the Horde and the Alliance march to war once more.
Battle for Azeroth will allow players to venture through the regions Zalandar and Kul Tiras in an effort to recruit allies for the war effort. Additionally the Isle’s of Azsroth will allow teams of three to explore and take loot while competing against others. The level cap will go up to 120, and there will be new dungeons to explore in Freehold and Atal’Dazar.
A beta test for Battles for Azeroth will be taking place, and you can opt into it through the official site.
