Play Online For Free This Week With A PlayStation Plus Open Multiplayer Event

More than half of all PlayStation 4 owners don’t have a PlayStation Plus subscription, if Sony’s latest figures are still accurate – over 60 million consoles sold to 26.4 million subscribers – and that means potentially more than half of all PS4 owners are restricted from playing online. Every once in a while Sony like to open the doors to let people see what they’re missing out on, and this week is just one such occasion.

Between 10AM GMT 15th November and 10AM GMT 20th November, you’ll be able to play online whether you have an active subscription or not. There’s no sign up necessary outside of having a PSN account, you can just load up whatever game it is you want and start playing. This coincidentally crossed paths with a free weekend for Overwatch, so you know what to do if you’ve been sitting on the sidelines for one of the best multiplayer games of the last few years.

  1. Nice! What shall I dig out first. Last time I managed to get the few online Watch Dogs 2 trophies, and the platinum.

  2. “more than half of all PlayStation 4 owners don’t have a PlayStation Plus subscription”

Thats not accurate, how many people share one subscription between two devices, my son and I do even if it is a pain the neck to sort. His machine has to be my primary one meaning i miss out on most of the plus features like automatic save uploads etc.

  3. Ooh, I might fire up the PS4 for this and have a blast on GTA V!
