SoulCalibur still holds a relatively unique place in the fighting game genre, arming all its combatants with a variety of weapons, when the majority of fighting games are all about fists and punching. The long running series is back in 2018 for a sixth entry that is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
This is the first entry to appear on the current generation of consoles, so it’s bound to be in high demand by fans of the series, and it looks damned pretty. Don’t think it’s just a rinse, lather and repeat of the last few games though, as we’ve spotted what looks like a dodging mechanic in the trailer. To be fair, given the sudden bout of dramatic slow motion, I think Bandai Namco were probably trying to highlight its existence.

Hope it isn’t as half arsed as 5 was. That game did not feel complete.

Yay! SC2 and 3 are still on my go to playing list <3

If Sega would announce a new Virtua Fighter as well then I think I might die happy – can’t wait for more Soul Calibur!
