The last time there was a Dakar rally video game, it was still a race that had hundreds of competitors hurtling across Africa. That’s saying something, because it’s been a decade since the race moved from Africa to South America, with Dakar 18 from Bigmoon Entertainment and Deep Silver looking to recreate the race for the first time since 2003.
As a huge racing event that spans the continent, they’ve gone about creating a huge open world for players to race across, whether they take to motorbike, car, truck, quad or SxS. There’ll be both offline play and online multiplayer to delve into when the game arrives for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC some time this year.

Former Chelsea and Tottenham manager, Andre Villas-Boas, raced in Dakar this year. He had to retire because he crashed into a… sand dune.
