EA have posted a blog revealing their future plans for Star Wars Battlefront II, most notable a new progression system which will be launched in March. There are also plans to follow up The Last Jedi seaso, and a new game mode, Jetpack Cargo, will be available next month.
- We’re working on a revamped progression system. Your feedback has been essential here, and we are preparing significant changes to progression that will address many of the things we’ve seen players asking for. We’ll be sharing more details about these changes in March.
- A game mode called Jetpack Cargo is coming in February. Two teams of eight players equipped with jet packs compete in Jetpack Cargo, a frantic, fast-paced way to play. This mode will only be available for a limited time, so don’t miss it.
- A new Season is coming soon. We’ve learned a lot from the first season of content for Star Wars Battlefront II, and we’re integrating those insights into our plans moving forward. We know you’re waiting for details on what’s coming in the next season, and we’ll have more to tell you soon.
There’s no mention of the return of paid loot boxes but they are expected to be reinstated at some point.

Well this is good news, hopefully EA can build some more interest before the inevitable Solo season of content! Shame we have to wait until March for progression changes

I have the platinum for this and have since moved on but I completely agree with the revamping of progression within this title! The in-game rewards and Exp gained from matches is ridiculous. I seen myself forced to play Heros Vs Villians as it was the best mode for Exp while on my way to level 50. The game offers a good variety of modes which are fun and unique but lack end game rewards and Exp. After reaching level 50 and obtaining the platinum which took me well over 50 hours of online play, I only ever manage to get 4 cards to level 4 between two different characters! Not very impressive. Shame this didn’t happen sooner.
