Video game music is no stranger to concert halls these days, with the original scores from Final Fantasy and The Legend of Zelda brought into real life with a full orchestra. Next in line is some of the fantastic music from PlayStation games, with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the City of London Choir combining for the appropriately named PlayStation in Concert at the Royal Albert Hall.
The show will be presented by Jessica Curry, whose work on Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture will be featured alongside music from The Last of Us, The Last Guardian, Crash Bandicoot, Medievil, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, LittleBigPlanet, Horizon Zero Dawn and more. Strangely, they’re going to try and drag your attention away from the performers on stage by using the new EnCue system within the Royal Albert Hall, which is an app to deliver media and concert to your smartphone as the music plays.
Announced last week – we seem to have missed it at the time – the concert is to be held next week on 30th May, with tickets ranging from £20-65.
