With a wry smile and a cheeky chuckle, DICE announced that Battle Royale would be coming to Battlefield V, though they claim it’s a new take on the game. So new, that it won’t be in the game and launch and that they’re only going to be talking about it in the autumn.
They also showed off a brief glimpse of multiplayer in trailer form and a snippet of the Norwegian single player story, before saying that more will be shown at tomorrow’s Xbox briefing.
So, after saying a lot about nothing for the game’s announcement stream, DICE have followed it up by saying very little at EA Play. Cheeky.
I missed the start of the stream – did the gameplay demo feature the cockney lady with the prosthetic arm? Hope not, that was one of my bingo picks!
I will have to double check the stream. I didn’t see one in the above trailer, but if I’m being really really mean, she was probably in the key artwork blown up on the big screen.
I’m wondering if they’d have actually taken the time and extra care to fit a prosthetic unless it was an elite soldier or asset during the time of war.
Judges prerogative in the end. I was banking on the fact that they would just be showing off multiplayer rather than the single player component where she would be more likely to feature.
