Two intriguing game announcements came out of Square Enix’s E3 2018 stream, but amounted to little more than cheeky teasers of games yet to come. Babylon’s Fall is a new game from PlatinumGames, due for release on PS4 and PC in 2019, while The Quiet Man gave a tiny glimpse of a game that Square will reveal in more detail in August, presumably at Gamescom, and is in development for PS4 and PC by Human Head Studios.
Here’s the trailers starting with Babylon’s Fall, which seems to chart the rise and fall of the Helos Empire in across hundreds of years. It’s definitely a teaser for fans to pour over for the tiniest of details.
Next up is The Quiet Man, which seems to blend live action footage with in-engine gameplay. The protagonist’s deaf, but obviously a master of hand to hand combat. Where it goes from here will be really interesting.
Update: The blurb in the press release states:
THE QUIET MAN takes players beyond sound to deliver an immersive story driven cinematic action experience, which can be completed in one sitting. Seamlessly blending high-production live action, realistic CG and pulse-pounding action gameplay.
